MAX COMMUNITY CLUB
MEETING MINUTES
October 13, 2014
The monthly meeting of the Max Community Club was called to order at 7:08pm
Attending were: Jim and Karen Bowman, Daisy and Jim Jensen, Margaret Smith, Bill and Cindy Cawthra, Geraldine Edwards, Ralph and Shary Boon, Bob and Kaye Tuttle, Shirley Griffin, and Eddie Burns.
Cindy Cawthra, Club President, thanked everyone for their help on our annual Fun Day – with setting everything up, running it all, and cleaning up afterward. She also thanked those who helped prepare the club house for both the Shary Boon Retirement Party, and also for the Bellamy Funeral Service.
The minutes of the previous month's meeting were read by Bob Tuttle (Club Secretary) and the financial report was read by Margaret Smith (Club Treasurer). Karen Bowman made a motion to accept both as read, and Shirley Griffin seconded the motion. A vote was held and both were accepted.
Old Business: The club discussed this years annual Fun Day, and if any improvements or changes should be made for next years Fun Day. The club also discussed possible compensation for Eddie Burns for keeping the community park mowed and kept up for the previous twelve months. It was discussed whether to replace the blades on his mower or monetary compensation, or both. A motion was made by Margaret Smith to compensate him both monetarily for the fuel he purchased and used as well as a set of blades for his mower. The motion was seconded by Bob Tuttle. A vote was held and the motion passed.
New Business: The club discussed the seasonal Fish Fry's that the club hosts. It was determined that we would remain on the same schedule as the past season, and we will host a Fish Fry on the first Saturday of November 2014, January 2015 and March 2015, and we would serve from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.
The club also discussed the Fund Raising Challenge presented to us by Randy Raile of BW Telcom, wherein he challenged the Max Community Club to raise $10,000 by the end of the year. After reviewing the club's fund raising events and totals thus far, we found that we are still quite a bit short of reaching this goal. Several members indicated they were hopeful that we would be able to reach the goal through the generosity of several of our long term supporters.
With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
