The Night The Mummy Came to Max!
In 1945 (or 1946), County Agent Leo Barnell arrived in Max with film in hand, as town residents gathered together in the school gymnasium to watch “The Mummy’s Hand” (1940), starring Dick Foran, Peggy Moran, Wallace Ford, and Cecil Kelloway. We wonder just how many of the little one’s had nightmares that night! Special thanks to Phyllis (Howard) Kirkman, who was there that night, and who, with her remarkable memory, was able to identify almost everyone in this photo! [Click on the photo to enlarge it]
