Max Community Club
Meeting Minutes
January 12, 2015
The meeting was called to order at 6:40pm. In attendance were Jim and Karen Bowman, Bill and cindy Cawthra, Margaret Smith, Jim Jensen, Jason and Marcy Kier, and Bob Tuttle.
The minutes for the previous meeting were read by Bob Tuttle, and Margaret Smith read the Treasurer's Report. Jim Jensen made a motion to accept both, as read. The motion was seconded by Bill Cawthra. The motion carried and both were accepted as read.
Old Business: A brief discussion was held concerning the annual letter and delivery of the fruit plates. Cindy thanked everyone who participated and helped.
A discussion was held concerning the Fish Fry which was to have been held on January 3, 2015, and which had to be canceled due to inclement weather. The question was presented as to whether the club wanted to reschedule for February or wait until the next scheduled Fish Fry in March. It was determined that there were not many people who had asked about a possible rescheduling, and to try and reschedule would be difficult when it came to notifying people. Therefore a motion was presented by Margaret Smith to not reschedule and to wait for the next Fish Fry in March. The motion was seconded by Jim Bowman. The motion carried, and we will not reschedule.
After the last snowstorm, an executive decision was made to hire the Kier children to shovel the snow from around the clubhouse, which they did, and they did an excellent job.
Discussion was held concerning the small plot of ground immediately South of the park, which the club had been using, with permission of the alleged owner, for overflow parking during the Fish Fry's and other events. The alleged owner has since rescinded permission for us to utilize this space, and it was decided that we will honor the alleged owners wishes and we will no longer maintain nor use that plot of ground.
Discussion was held concerning the light for the park flagpole, and Cindy said she would order it.
New Business: It was announced that club membership dues and street light funds are now due and should be paid no later than March 1, 2015.
Cindy announced that we met our fund raising goal which was needed to receive a one-half matching donation from BWTelcom, and discussion was held regarding how to use the funds. No decisions were made at this time.
The next meeting of the Max Community Club will be held February 9, 2015 at 6:30pm
The meeting adjourned at 7:10pm
