The meeting was called to order at 6:50pm. Attending were Bill and Cindy Cawthra, Margaret Smith, Bob Tuttle, Jim and Karen Bowman, Shirley Griffith, and Daisy Jensen.
Cindy thanked everyone who helped out with and supplied food for Phyllis Gardner’s memorial supper.
Cindy read the minutes from the December meeting, and Margaret read the treasurer’s report. Jim made a motion that the report be accepted. The motion was seconded by Shirley. The motion carried.
Old Business: It was discussed where to put the fire extinguishers that were picked up by Perk. Lighting issues in the church, and club house were also discussed, including the installation of a light over the sink. Jim, Bill and Bob were volunteered to look into these issues.
Cindy announced that we were approved for the Hester Foundation Grant of $8000 to repair the basketball court in the park. The estimate for work previously presented by Bob Krutsinger is still good, and he will try to start on the court this spring.
Cindy also announced that Verna Lemon will be putting together the “Thank You” cards for the club to use.
Also discussed was the issue of memorials for Phyllis Gardner and Donna Perkins, with the possibility of these memorials consisting of books donated to the Dundy County Library. Cindy was tasked finding out the proper procedure for doing this, and she will be speaking with Nana at the library, and will report back to the club.
Upon arrival at the clubhouse tonight, it was discovered that the upper storm window of the screen door had shattered, probably due to the door not being closed and latched properly after the last fish fry. Jim will look into the cost for a new window, and everyone is reminded to please make sure that the screen/storm door is closed and latched when the last person in the clubhouse leaves.
The clubhouse is rented for May 14th and July 30th.
Margaret made a motion to accept the club minutes and Shirley seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40pm
The next meeting will be April 11th.
